Each week, I volunteer at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul food pantry in Austin, helping distribute food and supplies to neighbors in need. It's become one of the most grounding parts of my week — a chance to know people in my community outside of the university, and a good reminder of why the policy questions I study matter to real people's lives.
